 Congratulations ACS 5th Graders

disney planet challenge.pngThe 5th grade enrichment students wanted to begin a composting pile at school to educate others, reduce waste, and create rich, fertile soil for our garden beds. Their hope is that this project will continue throughout the years and inspire others to begin composting at home. Students did research about the different methods of composting and decided that the outdoor composting bin was our best option. They prepared presentations for the other students in the school to educate them about what composting is and what the benefits are. They also encouraged students to participate by collecting banana peels during lunch. These students volunteer their time weekly to add compost to the pile, water it, and turn it. Their hard work earned them a place as Honorees for the Disney Project Challenge! Congratulations 5th graders!
