Student Registration & Enrollment Procedures
Welcome to the Leonia Public School District.
We have attempted to provide you with most of the information you will need to register and enroll your child into our school district on this web site. Most of the Documents and Forms may be filled out and printed at home and brought to the Leonia Board of Education Offices at 570 Grand Avenue (the little grey house with white rocks on the lawn).
Proof of Residency must be established before your child may enter as a student in the district. The following documentation is required at the time of registration:
- Proof of Leonia Residency — a copy of your Lease or Deed
- Any Utility Bill
- Child’s Birth Certificate
- Current Immunization Record - Up-to-date immunization records must be presented before a student can attend school.
- Driver’s License of either parent
- Student Transfer Card if the child is currently enrolled in another district
•Registration Forms — below is a link for forms to be completed which will enable us to determine your child’s eligibility to attend school in the Leonia School District, in accordance with New Jersey law and process your registration efficiently and quickly. Kindergarten Registration will take place at Anna C. Scott School.

Frequently Asked Questions What if I can not locate the paperwork that must I bring to register my child? Please call the Board of Education to discuss acceptable alternatives at 201-302-5200 Ext. 1203 What is the cut-off date for registering a child for Kindergarten? A child must be 5 years of age by October 1 of the upcoming school year. Do I need to schedule an appointment for registering my child? Registration at the Board of Education does not require an appointment. (8:00 am – 3:30 pm) Do I need a current physical for my child? Yes. A record of a current physical examination must be submitted to Leonia Schools (which indicates within one year (365 days) prior to the entry date). The physical must be performed by a physician or nurse practioner licensed in the United States. Physical forms are available from the school nurse.
